About the Scheme

The scrappage scheme is run in order to help you upgrade your windows and doors.  This is a non-government backed scheme, exclusively provided by our panel of windows and doors suppliers who offer substantial discounts for you against recycling your old doors and windows.

Up to £2500 discount available based on the following criteria

  • Fed up with rising energy bills?
  • Are your Windows 5+ years old?
  • Are you a home owner in Scotland?

How the Scottish Windows Scheme works

Often the cost of new windows and doors can put you off upgrading, even though there are significant energy saving to be made.  This is where the scheme could help some households in Scotland by offering up to £2500 in discounts off the price of new windows and doors.  To achieve this we offer you a discount for your old windows and doors which are subsequently recycled, including the glass.  This allows us to offer a substantial saving against the cost of your new windows or doors.

Your old windows and doors are removed and recycled free of charge and this have a positive impact on the environment.  The scheme provides a wide array of windows and doors installation options for you to choose from to personalise your property.

Our Partners

Thousands of customers in Scotland have benefited from this scheme providing them with affordable windows and doors.  Out trusted window and door companies are matched to you in your area for convenience.

We vet all of our partners to ensure they meet the highest standards whilst completing windows and doors installations.  All our partners install energy saving windows and doors and receive money for recycling your old windows and doors. In turn they are then able to pass this saving on to you by way of a substantial discount.

What sort of discount am I likely to?

With big discounts worth £1000s it is easy to see that new windows and doors are more affordable than ever.  The scheme works on the size of your property in the levels provided. Typically, the scheme provides you with up to £200 per window and £100 for a door as a trade in price, although the level of subsidy will vary according the number of windows and doors in your property.

Take note, this is not a government backed scheme, it is provided solely by our partners who are buying back your old windows and doors for up to £2500 thereby significantly reducing the cost of replacement ones.  The windows, doors and glass are all recycled (approximately 95%) which means you are doing your bit for the environment.

Why has the scheme been set up?

To help people like you make huge energy savings with new windows and doors purely because your old windows were likely to retain less heat than new windows and doors we install.  The loss of heat through inefficient windows and doors is one reason why your energy bills are higher than they could be especially given the recent rises in wholesale energy costs it makes sense to reduce your energy consumption through heat loss.  This also has the added benefit of stopping your old windows and doors, including the glass, going to landfill and causing long term harm to the environment.

How are windows and doors recycled?

Usually, the frames are shredded, granulated and micronised (fine separation processing).  At this stage, old windows and doors can be recycled to create new uPVC for installation with a very long life span.  This eco-friendly approach adopted by our partners is stopping vast amounts of otherwise recyclable uPVC from being sent to landfill.
